Waiting On the Sea
Tears stain old stone, from eyes chiseled of worry,
salt wind does make her cry, as she waits for her love.
With cloak wrapped tight on shoulders square and straight.
Strength of all women, who's men go off to sea,
as she keeps watch on the sky and the horizon.
**While living in Oregon, there was a little
town on the coast that had a stone carving
of a woman staring out to sea.
The bronze plaque read: "Waiting On The Sea"
The image of her stayed with me all these years.
