Waiting For the Future

With every sweet breath that caresses my cheek, And silky tresses that trellis love-scented sheets, Each new morning is from you to me a gift, When your face is the first sight my eyes meet. Down sun-dappled streets and leafy lanes we saunter, Golden beaches echo with our merry banter, Every small café is our own private hideaway, So long as you’re here with me, not yonder. Your eyes dance with the flickering gold of candlelight, When the moon rises and twilight takes flight, The garnet of wine, the crimson of roses, Adorn the modest place we share each night. Is this but a mirage, or will it come through? Will Fate smile on us, will love hold true? For this glorious future my heart aches, When every day is dream-tinged, blessed by you.
