Waiting For the Dawn
You never know you'll miss the sun, until it is the night
Until the darkness comes, you never know you'll miss the light
You never miss the warmth until you've felt the bitter cold
You never know to miss your youth, until the time you're old
You never know of hunger, or thirst, until you lack
You never know you'll miss a place, until you don't go back
You never know how much love means, until you are alone
You never see an empty tree until a bird has flown
You never know of silence, until you've heard a shout
You never know you need a thing, until you do without
You don't know how you'll miss someone, until at last they're gone
But you cannot miss the darkness, you must wait until the dawn
