Waiting

Hopeful. Tick tock. Fearful.
Yearning. Tick tock. Heart-break.
Unknown. Tick tock. Empty.

Wasting precious moments as she waits
Enveloped in a web of timelessness
Holding fast and standing strong,
Contained agony.

Wishing, wanting, unknown dreams abound
Vague and vivid sights and sounds emerging,
Reeling, dizzy and unsure.
Concealed misery.

Timing, oh so crucial to our lives
A minor step, a major stride to take,
To set us on our journey
Risking happiness.

Waiting. Tick tock. Slowly.
Patience. Tick tock. Breathing.
Heartbeat. Tick tock. Timeless.
