Wait For Me

If you were mine I would treat you forever kind ill hold you tight in my arms

If you were mine would you smile at me would you cry my loneliness would be filled inside

If you were mine would you come with me understand. to a far distance from land

If you were mine would you dance with me straight in line or would you leave me there standing
crying

If you were mine would you listen or waste my time we could climb this endless wall to make it
right

If you were mine would you take from me my words of crime
or would stay there and tell me the ruthless lies

You're not mine you'll never be but in my mind i will wait
for you will you wait for me?

Hi Elton. I have played and sang for 47yrs, The last 15 with my son. Now its time to fade into the background (Not Disappear) so feeling a little lost. Hence this song. Loved this emotive piece. All the 'Ifs' finalised by the promise to wait. Beautiful but somehow sad. Thanks for your comments, Eamon
