Wages of Sin
how much does a transgression cost,
there shan’t be wealth when sin is free-
for I have been to hell and back,
o, how can I go on in fear?
forget the woe beneath my cage,
and WAGE THE SIN within my rage;
I must believe in lighter nights-
beneath cement the gold seeks hope,
yet ‘tween the shades of doing wrong,
my fault has seen what I saw not-
digress with souls of graven sins
and starve for what I knew was right
there is no shade to protect me,
I’ve counted riches (brush away)
for wealth of plenty wears kindness;
atonement freed what once was jailed
then liberty became my truth
deceit and lies are always bought
when honest truth is never taught-
for life became surreal to me
