Wages of Hope
What numbs the hand, and pulls the eye
is nonsense by the fancied few,
but grasp the rancor like a sty
and hold the measure further up!
No more than would I arduously cup
a multiple fit of by and by
but calm my axis, lose abrupt
and drink to honor's sought worthwhile!
For I result but of a life,
and thee, but of a constant strife,
the joke by par expand relies
the futile here, of what is guise!
How deaf the problem I incite
by waiting wasting my respite
resources granted use my life
but here, withheld, removals quiet!
The goal inherent, still is rife
the role as reverent . . . culls way's riots.
