Waddling in the Rain
Looking out my window
Gray clouds hung in the sky
Rain came crashing down
That can turn a smile into a frown.
Out of the blue
A duck came into view
Strutting about the parking lot
Enjoying a lovely afternoon stroll
Amidst the thunderous storm.
He didn't seem to mind
Getting drenched from beak to feet
To him, he was enjoying a nice shower
Courtesy of Mother Nature herself.
Ruffling his feathers
He looked fluffy, like a lamb
Feeling fresh as a daisy
He gave a happy little honk
Thanking nature for a refreshing bath.
He shuffled away
Going about his day
Not a care in the world
As he walked down the street.
A strange but pleasant sight
Granting a lesson in that moment
How one can make a rainbow
On such a monochrome day.
