Voice

No matter what I do,

He's cruel invading voice echoes in my brain.

Nearly a decade since we parted, everyday the same sentence replays.

Trapped in an endless circle that never goes away.

What started as a joke that he would say, for over a decade i heard it everyday.

Now its carved Like a permanent scar, he's voice saying your fat and ugly wherever you are

Words can truly haunt us.. hope that voice dissipates. There’s a beauty in your vulnerability here, expressing this. Perhaps it is not their voices that haunt us, but the echo of the pain they caused. Even when it’s a joke, it can still be very painful. This reminds me to be kind always. We don’t know the impact we can have on someone. Always, Laura
