Vision of Christ

I was uneasy throughout the day on Monday
Attended to my routine chores halfheartedly
I read the morning newspaper nonchalantly
Without grasping a fraction of the fine print.

Could not concentrate on anything specific
Felt as though enveloped by a vague feeling
I was sucked into an inexpressible vacuum
And somehow dragged myself till days ‘end.

My most incorrigible habit of surfing the net
And logging in to face book and poetry soup
Which I find normally a cause of cheerfulness
Failed me remain hooked on to them dearly.

But by Tuesday morning the scenery changed
I got up feeling refreshed and feather-like; light
I had a vision of the good shepherd; Jesus, that
Ushered peace that passeth all understanding.
