Villanelle: Who's Not Racist, Do Stand Not Up, Please

Villanelle : Who’s not racist, do stand not up, please

for Piers Morgan & Anderson Cooper

Who’s not racist, do stand not up, please
Isn’t S/He who put us here the biggest
S/he who asked to be put here, stand up, please

We’re all African, so don’t ever tease
Mutations make some think they’re the best
Who’s not racist, do stand not up, please

Even the Neanderthal can freeze
Yet leave behind just a trace in jest
S/he who asked to be put here, stand up, please

Did the Heidelbergers race the pygmies
Up Peking Man’s cave to win the contest
Who’s not racist, do stand not up, please

Can the genes of Evolution release
The real truth of the DNA test
S/he who asked to be put here, stand up, please

Will not Human Nature be our complice
   Arraigned before a jury perplexed
Who’s not racist, do stand not up, please
S/he who asked to be put here, stand up, please
