Vii

Your beauty thus be my only friend,
as I go into that dance of life alone,
and only your true inner beauty shall keep
me warm on violent, cold nights,
when those busy folk move down the streets,
when I reach out a hand out to them,
you shall keep me warm, my dear.

Though love be a single day with you,
under a candle lit cabin in winter's company
I wish you were with me,
for everyday without you, my dear,
is a day not at all.

Keep me in your heart,
when I am out of sight,
and talk to me every night;
when I am not around,
I am somewhere else in flight,
joining a long fight
called "life,"
but I shall surely lose this battle
if I live another single minute, second or
hour without you.

Come now, embrace me with that innocent giggle,
that enchanting embrace,
and whisper kind words in my ear, and
kiss me,
for the night is lone and lonely and cold,
and I have to fight another War tomorrow.
