Notes About The Poem
'bout my parked car left overnite in an "upscale" neighborhood in my city, truly enjoying his surroundings....while feeling his age...and the coming reality of daybreak....jimbo
Victorian Vapor Dreams
Tires hurt,
leaning left
far too long-
Rubbed raw…
A few feet away, fist-sized clouds of
Tiny Scarlet Trempeleau Butterflies paused-
Sipping nectar glistening like jewels from
Morning drops of dew, clinging to the running
Strands of Wild Pea Bush, with only daybreak in
The distance…
These beasts outside my window,
Hazy under Old London Street Lamps-
Silently glooming in middle night, awaiting call to arms
Of rush-hour traffic...
wishing one never to come-
the other
……to never end
