Vexed

loving brings me nothing but a certain end.
comin in so quickly, why'd we start again?
leavin with the storm, you've done it all again.
left here, i'm singing verses for your mind.
guide you, i'll get you in with father time.
just don't you dare leave me behind.

bound by some extraordinary bond,
dipped a finger or two in my past.
watched as the ripples grew, my face crippled.
understanding my transparency, anxiety tripled.
talking through my silence,
he gave no thought to the violence
in my eyes as the lies grew
and he flew down the globe
hoping to find what he's been waiting for,
while i was waiting to be what he was hoping for.
and i stayed through it
because i thought it would change
but people stay the same
and no one remembers your name
once you stop playing their games.
he yearned for the rush of being pursued,
and i was only looking to be rescued.
