Veterans Day

The Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel lit red, white, and blue

On the eleventh day of November, there’ll be a crowd.
All day local beaches have folks coming to pay respect,
today as they celebrate Veterans Day solemn and proud.

Armistice Day coincides, Woodrow Wilson vowed,   
to work out in peace a new and more justly set.
On the eleventh day of November, there’ll be a crowd.

Caskets are covered, an American flag as their shroud
They salute them and the crosses in the sand, then reflect,
today as they celebrate Veterans Day solemn and proud.

Representing the heroism of those who died allowed,
Americans to honor all five US Armed Forces select.
On the eleventh day of November, there'll be a crowd.

A women’s veteran day will be recognized, endowed.
For their unique challenges, this soon will be in effect,
today as they celebrate Veterans Day solemn and proud.

This day at the pier parade bands play scores loud,
sharing hugs with those who’ve lost and have regret.
On the eleventh day of November, there’ll be a crowd,
today as they celebrate Veterans Day solemn and proud.

I Am Anaya November 14, 2022 at 7:24 AM Hi Valsa, here we honor military veterans, who have served in the United States Armed Forces. It coincides with other holidays including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day and Memorial Day, which are celebrated in "other countries" that mark the anniversary of the end of World War I. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour! It gets a little complicated, but that's what I'm here for..Lol :D
