Vermilion Flames

Color clinging to the trees won't let go, defying an early Winter flurry. For crimson canopies shake off the snow, assuring Autumn, she need not worry. Jack Frost excels at igniting the trees ablaze in scarlet and vermilion flames. And while Winter winds commandeer a breeze, she hasn't earned the victory that she claims. As swirling snowflakes swiftly melt away, Fall's breathtaking scenery is restored. And for all those wishing Winter would stay, She'll be back; but Autumn won't be ignored. Brisk breezes strip the canopies of leaves, while migrating geese slip away like thieves.

Very nice Emile. I can relate to the snow coming early in this poem. However, we got plenty that stayed with the leaves, both on the ground. :)

Lovely piece! Alas, winter has claimed this terrain, snow appears to be here to stay, only the oaks left holding their leaves. xomo
