Variant Seasons

Listen to poem:
Variant Seasons
David J Walker

I
Indecision has never been
my intention

My lifes work summed up in
short sentences

I greet the morning sun
head-on

and about-face to the west as if
		it might be the last

it might have been the best
		but I don’t know

and may never know the rest of
		the variant seasons

II

I have time yet to grow older
		Gravity takes its toll

Words become bolder and gardens
yet to harvest need water

there is yet another summer
		Autumn has placed its order

Winter bivouacs in Northern quarters
Spring is the thing in doubt
