Van Gogh Paintings

Art is so precious after its creator dies, like renowned Van Gogh paintings. They cost millions now, but he just sold one or two during his entire lifetime. He just kept painting, creating masterpieces knowing no one wanted one, till he decided to let the art speak for him, and committed suicide. August 24, 2017

Van Gogh, like many other painters, did not reap the financial fruit which his excellent paintings merited. This, coupled with his mental state, contributed to disillusionment, and thus to his tragic ending. You gather a lifetime in a nutshell, Vijay. ~ Wishing you a Happy & Fruitful New Year. // paul

Often times, the art itself has a life beyond the reach of the artist.

Starry Night, painted from his asylum window, tells the story of how closely related genius can be to insanity. Well done Vijay...

Very true Charlie--many people called him a mad man--thanks for sharing your thoughts on the painting.

Such truth, I believe most artists believe their work is inferior. I saw his bedroom collection and many of his other works and drawings when they had an exhibit here. I wrote a poem called Clouded Eyes about the feeling it left with me.

Unfortunately, most artists don't reap their rewards until after death...nicely stated my friend...maybe one could fake their death...that could work lol...god bless...^WW^

Tragic story that has been told so many times on different occasions and in different arts! The Art for the love of Art is the secret, not the recognition that might never come! Excellent writing my friend, Vijay!
