Value of Earnest Effort

Failure can result from the best of trying
But without it no one would ever succeed --
With this in mind there can be no denying
Success is never fully guaranteed.

Fear of failure is never an excuse to give up
Or cause one to prematurely concede,
Consider that a glitch may be only a hiccup
Success is never fully guaranteed.

Almost everyone has the desire to achieve
To reach a goal, or, to fulfill a need –
Seeing to fruition what the mind will conceive
Success is never fully guaranteed.

Great reward comes from earnest effort
Even if it is only the planting of a seed,
It brings to the sower a world of comfort
Success is never fully guaranteed.

This is what I try to teach children "Great reward comes from earnest effort" but it is better if it comes from their parents.

Me too, Tom, and the more obstacles I face the more determined I get. I credit most of the successes in my life to people in my childhood who told me I wouldn't amount to much because of who my father was.
