Valley of Decision

Awaken the dreamer of hope,
To bask in the morning sun.
Tarry in the breath of splendor,
And joy in nature’s song.

Walk the path more lovely.
Tread where beauty lies.
I urge you onward, there,
As youth still frames your soul.

When tears, as streams may flow,
To flood the valley where you sit,
Go, to reach the highest peak,
Where mountains rush the sky.

I have been there once,
Where the trail of choice divides.
And now I have naught to claim,
But a life abundant with regrets.
