Valentine Sky

VALENTINE SKY
Through branches bare, into a winter's gray,
your face, it changes, like a troubled sky,
I see you smile, then see you turn away,
into your cloud; I watch you as you die.

An evening sun paints valentines of you
some fiery red, some only I can see,
but all too soon, they disappear into
the cold of night, the winter's grip of me.

Would that a valentine live through this night,
and long enough to kiss the buds of spring,
I'd sell my soul to hell to make it right,
to hear your voice the way 'twas meant to sing,

to see your smile, the way 'twas meant to see,
to touch your hand, like it was meant to be.
