Vagabond Dreams
"Now I am a vagabond of the universe, a drifter among spaces where
the madness of things has no limits" - Thomas Ligotti
The blue hills rolled down the verdant slopes
in rhythmic swings on the tinged topography,
cradled the charm of the humming hamlet
that once lodged my home and my dreams.
With the sliding shadow of the cotton clouds,
scaling the halcyon heights of the cerulean sky,
my gallivanting dreams wandered around afloat
with the colorful kites I loved to fly in the blue.
The sparkling stream throwing up transient pearls
flowed with flamboyance with my dreams,
girdled my teenage landscape in embracing loops
with fancy gliding garlands of vagrant meanders.
The paper boats I made with motif of my dreams
drifted away in the current of stream’s rippling trail
to the distant dreamland destination unknown,
and on these I saw my roaming fantasy sail.
The surging storm swept across my turbulent time,
the soaked boats sank, the snapped kites flew away,
I turned into a wandering drift wood dislodged from root,
searching the itinerant mind for the vagabond dreams.
