Notes About The Poem
Vaeloria is violently reshaped toward mandatory empathy, where the suffering of a single citizen can no longer be masked by propaganda.
Vaeloria Chapter 12 - The Fall of the Iron Tongues (Year Fifty-Five)
Then came the heavy reckoning, the mandate of the wise,
To sever clean the present from a history of lies.
The dawn of Fifty-Five arrived, sharp, terrible, and bright,
As the global mandate triggered with a hammer-blow of light.
The Resonance descended, locking every synaptic gate,
Rewiring alien biology to purge the old world's hate.
No longer was the network just a choice that you could close,
The truth became a physical tide that unbidden arose.
The podiums were marble, and the warlord thrones were steel,
Built to endure the passing years, too arrogant to feel.
For generations they had ruled with calculated phrases,
Blinding the starving multitudes with ideological blazes.
But when the dawn of Fifty-Five broke sharp and crystal clear,
The architecture of deceit was struck with sudden fear;
The global mandate locked the mind, the great conductor woke,
And every silver-tongued decree became a physical choke.
The High Chancellor of Sector One stood tall before the crowd,
To speak of rations well-secured, his voice was fierce and proud.
He knew the vaults were barren dust, he knew the people starved,
Yet on his smooth, unyielding face a perfect smile was carved.
He opened up his mouth to paint a grand, deceptive scene—
The current struck. A lightning bolt of pure, electric green.
The lie was caught within his throat; his chest began to heave,
As spasms tore his ribcage through for daring to deceive.
He collapsed upon the steps of stone before the gathered land,
Clutching his throat with trembling, white-knuckled hand.
The words of hope he meant to forge were strangled into cries,
As his own lungs turned traitor to his profitable lies.
Beside him stood the Master of the automated fleet,
Who swore the drones were only built to clear the raider street.
He lied. He meant to purge the vaults and take the northern line—
A white-hot migraine fractured through his brain-stem like a mine.
The warlords of the flesh went down, the masters of the blade,
Undone by every false excuse their hollow lips had made.
To speak the simple words "I am well" when the spirit inside was dead,
Brought down the stinging lash of whips across the speaker's head.
The stadium walls re-echoed with a unified, screaming sound,
As columns of authority came crashing to the ground.
The grand deceit that held the world in separate, iron cells,
Was shattered in a single week by truth's unyielding bells.
Lysander felt the global shockwave ripple through his core,
The billion screams of citizens transforming on the floor.
His own chest heaved with every lie across the planet spoken,
The final, brutal forge in which the ancient world was broken.
To survive, they learned a quietude; to heal, they practiced grace,
As forced, unyielding empathy mapped every changing face.
For when a single citizen starved, the colony felt the blow,
And the ice of ancient borders finally started its thaw.
