Vacation At the River
River never sleeps
by the city,
nightlights
highlight
the dance craze faze
of evening party-goers
upon blue waves;
swimmers
sailboats
descend during days.
Time speeds by
as children thrill
yelling
splashing
elation-filled
river walk’s,
shopping sprees
raking in
green dollar bills;
folks enjoying
summer grills,
need tummy pills
by vacation’s end.
