Urgent Care

Urgent care is where you go When you’re a little scared That what you feel might be a thing For which you’re unprepared. You’d rather not spend hours in A hospital’s E.R., But staying home is stressful When you’re not quite up to par. So urgent care is something That is somehow in-between, For hopefully, by someone trained You’ll actually be seen. They’ll check you out and send you home With meds and some advice To see your doc (or not – It’s up to you to roll the dice). Before these places did exist, The hospital was where Most people went when they believed They needed urgent care. But nowadays it makes more sense, Unless you cannot breathe, To stay out of a hospital, Where waits may make you seethe.

Ahh, to wait and worry or panic and proceed? Just don't diagnose yourself on WebMD. then a headache turns into a brain tumor. Urgent Care over the hospital for me any day... This was funny and true. I liked your perspective.

Interesting... Myself, I'm depressed by both (hospitals and urgent care). A pox on the docs!

Yes, the nurse at the desk will let you know how sick you are. And if you can stay there, or you need to go to the ER. I had a kidney stone one day. Looked half dead, guess what she did say. :) lol

Ilene, here in Cali. they tell us not to go to the ER unless...in dire circumstances/urgent care is a rip-off. Covid.gov. will send 4 free covid tests. I'd start there.

Urgent care is not so urgent anymore. I made a Drs appointment yesterday. To me I feel it is urgent to see a Neurologist. The soonest I can see one is June 12th that is the earliest appointment at 8am in the morning. Times have changed. I can relate to your thoughts today. Thanks for sharing and wishing you a healthy and better new year...

Enjoyed your poem llene. Urgent care facilities sound like a wonderful idea. We don't have such a thing in Australia. They certainly would take the pressure off hospital staff in ER. We have medical centers but they are all qualified doctors that work there and aren't really designed for urgent care. Thanks for your well written very informative poem. Best wishes.
