Upon a Bed of Petals

Upon a bed of petals, The orphaned fairy slept, And friendly woodland creatures Were silent as they crept, So careful not to wake her, Recalling how she’d wept… For Gail’s Bed of Petals contest

Jack - You are one amazing poet of the brief. My favorite poetry is short and full packed - what more can I ask for in these past poems I've been reading. love Kathy

This definitely has a touch of magic that keeps me believing in the wee folk. I love the three words you use for the rhyme too Jack, they are used with flair and I'm a'wishing you all the best in the contest! Love, Lizzie

jack, I like this a lot but I think you could turn this into a longer poem, it sort of reads as there is a lot more to tell, still like it though, good luck...David

oh, and Miss Lily Jane, it was a movie and maybe a book too. I am sure it was fictional.
