UP IN SMOKE

UP IN SMOKE* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ whispers on the rails, a lone train fades into dusk— memories depart, echoes of laughter linger, in the smoke, dreams drift away.

I like your Tanka, Sara. I can see the train departing to what place I do not know. I can feel my heart a starting to want to hope onboard and go. Have a pleasant evening, my love, Bill

I agree, Bill. Watching trains depart ignited the wanderlust. Let's go! hugs Sara

This is beautiful, I love trains and anything to do with them. Reminds me of our fun little travels on them, like our Grand Canyon Railway trips, so much fun. The memories are like the smoke from the engines, wafting through my mind after reading your poem <3

awww, I appreciate your visit, BJ, as well as your mindful comments. Glad my words sparked a memory. I, too, love trains, and have many childhood memories of riding the rails with my mother and brother...the smoke always fascinated me....I thought it was magical :-) enjoy your evening, hugs, Sara <3
