Up For a Vote
draw the curtains, close the blinds
I’ll write in the dark so nothing rhymes
this poem won’t make ‘poem of the day’
that I know but who am I to say.
they’ll draw strings and tally the sum
perhaps I’ll get two votes or none
one will be mine, will you be the other
guess not, but thank you brother
