Unwanted Child

I cry out loud,
Waiting for someone to come and hold me in their arms,
Telling me that it will be alright,
Though I know it's not.

Around, all around, the dark memories gather,
My fear grows as the pain of your words fall against my heart,
It wounds me to the core,
How can fate be so cruel to me,
Though everything I do is for you,

I pretend that I can fly,
But I’m falling from the sky,
Only to land on the unforgiving ground,
An Unwanted child.
