untitled, a release

birds singing through their feathers
her heart in her skin's footsteps
will not remember where it once remembered
a shadow left lying to her breast

under trees she hopes to melt
though still on ground their stinging pelt
birds singing through their feathers
will not remember where it once remembered

like shadows, tongue's to be full u n c e a s i n g hunger
there is no way to this darkness

Will not remember, at my age it happens so often. I like the way you put it in words. Wondering does the title have anything to do with it???

Ah sweet paige, even in angst your words flow so melodiously. I love especially “ like with a shadow, the tongue surrenders there is no way to this darkness” wow that hits deep for me! So touching and moving! A very heartfelt poem this is. Your metaphors are as always so very authentic! Pleasure reading you today. Sending you light, always

A deep poem depicting that mind and body is still in control of soul. It is not that the Heart will not remember ~ it is that the mind clutches the Heart, trying to subjugate it. The use of birds singing through feathers is a good metaphor to use to depict that singing continues irrespective of state of body-mind-tongue. The final line is interesting- both darkness & light has a way, as well as a no way : it can just arrive and leave. Good tail-rhyme. I enjoyed, Paige : have a peaceful weekend. Xx

How profound is this poem, and how full of metaphor it is! It appears that she fails to break free of whatever may be the memory of a feeling that did not prove to be successful.

"A shadow left lying to her breast'.... a powerful line. It could be the memory of an emotional attachment gone awry, which she is not able to forget. Well written , dear Paige.

Yes. As Anaya says. This is certainly one to ponder. Very nice, Paige.

Perhaps a secret key in the mind to unlock the memory once recalled and journey forward through the shadow and into the light. The carcas left behind will recycle~ a good one for ponder, Paige. May blessings
