Until We Know

Until We Know

Yesterday I wrote of you, baby yucca,
Born from last years’ dying parents’ brown spears.
Today I am weeping at my window;
You are gone – you are gone.

Were your spreading petals victims of last night’s storm,
Like a child in waiting never to be born,
Born into the sunshine, supported by green spears,
Never to be adored on this earth’s sands,

Your petals in heaven spread over where you touched,
Where much you were loved for a tender moment,
Leaving us here below with drowning tears,
Until we know – until we know.

Back with a 'wild(?)' thought on this one. As soon as I started re-reading this, the narrative of Job and the gourd just hit me smack in the old cerebrum. (Job bemoans the fate of a gourd that withers, even though he had no connection to it. God then tells Job to ut-shup complaining about God's concern for the people of Nineveh (I think), whom God actually created/labored over... Anyway, whatever! Best wishes, Gershon

Beautiful and sad at the same time, Sunlite. It is such a pity when the young die too early! ~ Best regards // paul
