Unspoken Words

without words

flickering light
scraping
cranial cavity
gathering embers

blowing, on the coal,
like a whisper…
in the dark...

strutting prowess
phooo…phooo…

as children play
dark as day

…a tail
…a mane
an arrow wound

medicinal plants
burnished hew
studying copiously

god’s intended wall
poems with ambient light

hunting haunts the mind
shadows climb
fingers flicker

satisfied of hunger
having engraved
what his mind craved
mother nods
children smile
men give their ...ahems and …ahas

all tucked into bed
sunlight stings their eyes
shadows kiss their heads

the cave remembers
speaking unspoken words

Hello Kim, This is for sure a wondrous metaphor and build out of your poem here starting with the first verse "without words." I always enjoy these types of writes since they call upon the reader to think a bit in an abstract sense, about the flow of the imagery and the essence of your intended message. Keep up the great writing!! I see that you've actually posted a lot of poems which I think is wonderful!! Excellent Work!! Cheers and Best, Gary

This entry is a different slant and intake on the unspoken word. Well done

Kim, you have really outdone yourself with this one. What an abstract but cool vision appears from your piece today. This was wild and definitely creates many thoughts in the mind.
