Unseen

The town is filled with love,
The laughter of the adored surrounds my abode.
Floating hearts gather in the streets,
The ones who are cherished fall asleep.

I stay awake, gazing at the stars in the deep,
Feeling so empty, no one to love me.
Embracing myself,
The unloved can at least love their selves.

Alone I feel once again,
My crumbling heart starts to weep.
The ache it brings causes my eyes to leak,
Tears of envy flow.

Love and care is something I'll never know.
