Unseen

A mirror is merely
A reflection of ones self
You can't discern what's deep inside
That's shown to no one else

You can't see the broken heart
Of a mother who lost her child
Who blames herself for giving up
And sending to the wild

You can't see the damaged soul
Of a girl matured too fast
Who's innocence was torn away
By a demon of her past

You can't see the throbbing pains
Of a boy next to his dad
Who can't let go
Who's fading slow
Still words are left unsaid

A mirror merely shows
What's apparent to the eyes
You can't discern the agony
The reason why one cries

Verses 1,2,3,5 are excellent work on getting the meaning into 4 lines with the 2nd & 4th line rhyming as you did in the others. Light & Love and welcome!!!

Very true and a very nice poem. For me poems work much better as soul mirrors. After I write one I just sit and stare at it wondering what part of me I can see reflected back through the words.
