Someone once said, "To thine own-self be true
Why is this so hard for us to do?
Why do we sit and shift the blame?
Playing with words like this is a game
Look at the man in the mirror my friend
We must be honest and not pretend
The man in the mirror is looking back at you
A perfect reflection of a person called
You
You may not like that person you see
It is certainly you and not
ME!
I talked to the mirror today
Tinge of surprise
And the man that spoke back
Was wise
He told me a tale of a man
Survivor yet weak
Feigning strength to one and all
Yet meek
Finding fault in everyone he sees
Saving them all
Solving the problems of all the world
Then fall
It said the man seldom tried
Expected so much
A dreamer with visions unlived
Clumsy touch
Full of love to give but trust is guarded
Searching for love
Though torched he still strives on
Aided above
I talked to the mirror today and in it was me
Not a surprise
I finally faced myself and told the truth
Removed disguise
Touch of glass in my hand
It hits the mirror
Just like it always has
Hate fills me, again and again
The girl who I hate, looks at me
Eyes blue as oceans
Hair red as fire
Disgust shows threw
Hand comes down
Crystal flies
My pain filled scream fills the night
Will I ever be free?
Or will it always be her I see?
I am her mirror image
How I wish I wasn't
The mother I despise
But we look so alike
Its her fault I am messed up
Its her fault
And she just walks away despite it all
I see you smiling, holding his hand. Kissing and caressing you.
He says he loves you, the love of his life. When your outta sight he's fooling around,
treading on dangerous ground.
I see through the mirror
your misery
your pain
You see through the mirror he's cheating again.
I see you with a black eye. He's been beating you again. It's time to say goodbye. He's
hitting you, pushing you.
I see through the mirror
your misery
your pain
You see through the mirror he's beating you again.
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR ,
I SEE BROKEN PIECES
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR ,
I SEE A SHADDERED PERSON
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR ,
I SEE A LOST SOUL
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR ,
I SEE PEICES MISSING
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR ,
I SEE A CONFUSSED PERSON
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR ,
I SEE A CRUSHED PERSON
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR ,
I SEE A PERSON WITH SCAARS ON THE INSIDE
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR ,
I SEE A PERSON DEALING WITH PAIN IN THERE HEART AND SOUL
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR ,
I SEE A PERSON WOUNDERING IF THEY ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR ,
I SEE A PERSON WOUNDERING IF THEY ARE DOING WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THEM
SELVES
A mirror is merely
A reflection of ones self
You can't discern what's deep inside
That's shown to no one else
You can't see the broken heart
Of a mother who lost her child
Who blames herself for giving up
And sending to the wild
You can't see the damaged soul
Of a girl matured too fast
Who's innocence was torn away
By a demon of her past
You can't see the throbbing pains
Of a boy next to his dad
Who can't let go
Who's fading slow
Still words are left unsaid
A mirror merely shows
What's apparent to the eyes
You can't discern the agony
The reason why one cries
What if your mirror could talk
What do you think it would say?
Would it tell you all the wrong you've done,
Or just let you walk away?
Would it remind you of your promises,
That's now turned into lies?
Would it tell you of your failures,
As you peer deeper in its eyes
Would it tell you who you really are,
As you stare at it's reflection?
If you told it all your secrets,
Would it voice to you objections?
Would it set you on the righteous path,
Back where you belong?
Would it tell you where your life has changed,
At the place where it went wrong?
So what if your mirror could talk
And told you what you've been missin'?
Would we still only see our reflection
And never take the time to listen
