Unsayable Pride

How proud and unmoving this winter oak which stands erect, alone, glorifying itself-- those flaked leaves mocking autumn's request. I observe such chilled indifference, arrogant like me who cannot twirl like a warm bamboo and display tender intimacies in any human relation. Aloof, I cannot find kindness to share my own shade.
