Unrecognizable

There was a time she would have walked away She has been beaten down for many years What's left of her is standing here Today she's unrecognizablle even to herself She has been beaten down for many years This is not the life she had imagined Today she's unrecognizablele even to herself Her dreams have been exchanged for a nightmare This is not the life she had imagined His promises had been sweet as fresh honey Her dreams have been exchanged for a nightmare His stings continue to ravish her soul His promises had been as sweet as fresh honey She used to get lost in those deep blue eyes His stings continue to ravish her soul Will she find an antidote for her pain She used to get lost in those deep blue eyes What's left of her is standing here Will she find an antidote for her pain There was a time she would have walked away

A very sophisticated piece of writing. When people are beaten down so slowly overtime by someone who just doesn't appreciate them... just to look in the mirror and find you barely recognize yourself. Well it's time she moved on... but she seems hesitant to take that step. You've immersed me in your words yet again...

I'm glad you extended it and I am sure Debs will like it better that way too. Thanks for telling me!

This is very deep, Richard. Very well written, but very sad.

Thanks Eileen, unfortunately many women find themselves in this situation.
