Probably not a paradigm of Brenda’s contest but I go where the muse takes me!
Blind and harassed, the doorbell rings, I grasp
the knob and hold it tight, afraid to see.
The buzz of bell, annoying me. I gasp,
as my first date, unmasked, I’d rate a D.
Shoot ‘em up movie clashed, as did our snacks.
Drinks spilled and popcorn thrashed, before the end.
Romance-unskilled — a drip like candle wax.
He tried to make a move — his arm he’d bend,
but smacked me hard, instead, in my pained chest.
I took a break - the powder room, with sigh,
returned to him, agreed to make the best
out of this grievous situation, then die!
A kiss, eyes closed, might end this nightmare date!
Tongue slides inside my mouth like bad worm bait.
