Unlikely Lovers
Unlikely Lovers
Grandma was skinny
Grandma was blind
Daddy loved Grandma
He was one of a kind.
They had donuts in common,
A white cloth at the table.
Daddy sat down with Grandma
A donut on each plate.
Grandma ate her glazed donut,
Bounced and smiling, sang a little song,
Daddy slipped her another,
She thought it was the same one,
And so the afternoon went,
Daddy with his coffee slipping donuts
Laughing with a blind happy grandma
Earning stars in his crown.
