United We Stand

The frontline.
danger lies in wait.
you must be brave, tough and willing to die
for your country.
Freedom,
it's worth fighting for.
Two men go out into the field,
but only one returns.
Covering the frontlines,
they joined together, fought together,
now one will be coming home.
His medals pinned upon his chest,
to remind us all
of the sacrifice that he so bravely gave.
He is wrapped in his country's flag
he is sent home.
Harsh weather conditions are unbearable,
long hot days
with whipping winds of sand.
Little visibility,
a typical day in the life of a soldier.
They are someone's child,
someone's parent, someone's spouse.
We are a proud country,
proud to have such devoted soldiers
that are willing to die for their country.
Salute them, shake their hand.
Tell them thank you.
Our soldiers are why this country is free.
United we stand
