Unite Christmas Time

Green gifts that keep on giving
Memories of hazel holidays past
By our lavender lips keep on living
Telling of the happy times and bad

Reflection of Christmas lights
So festive in the chilly night
And in the children’s eager eyes
Excited for a Christmas prize

Yams on the old black stove cook
While mama pours sugar, dad looks
On coffee table is a holy book
From which bedtime stories took

Fireplace nurses a huge log
Which at first creates a fog
With warmth in our little house
We sing red carols so loud

But we never forget our own
Love ones who passed on
Words of them spoken like poem
They are remembered and well known

Christmas is a red gift to us
For God gave his son Christ
For our good to deliver us
In this spirit let us all unite

Beautiful memories Karen and like you say, we never forget our loved ones no longer with us. Can't believe it's nearly on us again. Tom

Dear Karen, What beautiful words and memories of Christmas and remembering what Christmas is all about—a baby who became our savior. I loved your words and memories, and they brought back my childhood memories of Christmas. Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel
