Unique Vibes
Reality is a stark, ugly truth,
stripped of its veneer of fake smiles.
Your choices in life are limited
by your imagination.
And hardening your resolve;
experience, grinds a cutting edge
on cast-iron cynicism;
smelted in the crucible of love
and forged in the flames of passion.
And yet, you realize
what you thought were unique vibes,
are naught but white noise;
a hiss shared by similar fools.
But the euphoric ambrosia of love
and the better sweet taste of betrayal,
are like an opiate to the naïve and lonely.
So when love's darker side emerges
wild and erotic;
unfettered feelings
fuel disappointment and frustration.
And extinguishing desire's fire,
depression claims its prize;
amongst the misunderstood multitudes.
Hope finds you struggling with feelings
of helplessness and uncertainty;
pursuing that most elusive of dreams;
unconditional love.
