Your Unique Vibe
Reality is a stark, ugly truth, stripped of its veneer of make-believe. Your choices in life define the parameters of your imagination. And hardening your resolve to survive, experience grinds a cutting edge on cold cast-iron cynicism, smelted in the crucibles of love and forged in the flames of passion. And you realize what you thought was your unique vibe, is naught but white noise; a hiss, unheard in a crowd of similar fools. But the pain of love lost and the bewilderment of love found, is the opiate of the naïve and lonely. So when life's darker side emerges, wild and erotic, unshackled demons cause havoc and mayhem. And extinguishing hope's last sparks of light, depression claims its prize amongst the misunderstood and stressed. For life oft leaves one struggling with feelings of helplessness and uncertainty pursuing that most elusive of dreams, unconditional love. (Free Verse) 02/27/2020
