Uninvited Darkness
The darkness uninvited descends.
A broken heart seemingly never to heal.
The emptiness that comes from loss.
Will this excruciating pain ever end?
The struggle continues day by day.
The pain is always there in your heart.
Thoughts of his touch, his very soul;
I cannot breathe for he is in the way.
Then one day the memories begin to dim,
And the hole that seemed never to fill,
Begins to be shared with a different life;
A life that you must embrace for him.
He would not want you to live in darkness,
Nor embrace an empty hole filled with sorrow.
For as long as you live he will always be there
Willing to share his space with your happiness.
