Thank you for this thoughtful feedback, Eve. Even though sports are often watched on TV alone, there is a sense of community with your fellow fans, cheering for a common cause. It's that camaraderie I miss most, though Poetry Soup fills that cup nicely. Hope you are safe and well ~ John

I imagine the Indy 500 too. Can you imagine the Indy 500 on Labor Day? Unheard of! Somehow I believe we will make it through. Prayers for all those suffering and sacrificing.

... and March Madness ... and Kentucky Derby ... Well, I don't mean to complain too loudly about sports when there are so many more serious things to be concerned with. But I do think it's okay to miss them. Thanks for the visit.

Thank you Connie. There are way more important issues to fret about than our sports teams, but they do provide a nice diversion from the grit and grime of life.

Thanks. I thought it was worth acknowledging in a poem, but it is a small, small thing in the grand scheme of things.
