Unhinged
I don’t even know what you do to me,
but I know I want it
to keep happening;
You are a mystery
I cannot fathom;
I try to sound your depths,
and even sinking into them
I cannot tell just how far
you reach,
how far down
I am willing to descend.
Is it madness
for me to want you,
is it rapture I feel
when your skin touches mine?
Your soft breath
whispers in my year,
your heartbeat
the rhythm I dance to,
everything I think about
faded in your shadow.
How do I live,
eat,
sleep,
without you,
as I did for so many years
before knowing you exist?
I am an empty threshold,
doorless,
unhinged.
