Unfulfilled

The rain beats down Shimmering from the foggy sky Casting it's shadows on all to frown To myself no longer could I lie. My dreams lay weeping And trying to concentrate, My heart breaks, creeping With no soul, to relate. The sparrow whistles in delight As lovers walk the tarmac beside me Melancholy gnawing at me in fright "Is this how life gonna be?" My dreams lay, sieged My heart resides broken Like an exposed leaf, bleached, My life is but a token. Standing alone with my face bleak Head jerked upwards, undistilled The road seems far and my spirit, weak And my life I throw at fate, dreams unfulfilled. By Temajung Michael
