Love is what makes life livable... (By Poet) You broke my heart, weighing it down with lies until it couldn't bare the weight of one more. And I lost sight of the love in your eyes, obscured by shadows that weren't there before. Hope never wanted to believe the truth as long as there was a chance doubt was wrong. And I kept blaming the jitters of youth, confident the bond we had, was still strong. Friends warned; I was being played like a fool, but I wasn't ready to abandon trust. For I didn't believe you'd be so cruel, as to exploit love to satisfy lust. When lies poison what makes life livable, it's more than wrong; it's unforgivable. "Hope never wanted to believe the truth." Amazing line of wisdom from a broken heart not written in delusion but with the eyesight of steadfast hope. This is a wondrous poem Emile. Congratulations. Blessings.

mmm... love a sonnet. Exquisite, your iambs and rhymes. Poignant, your portrait of a false lover. "...to exploit love satisfy lust" truly is unforgivable.
