Unforgettable
You are unforgettable
never alone
No distance to far
a screen prayer or phone
You’ve always been strong
I know by what I’ve read
It doesn’t matter
those things he’s said
Watch him walk away
let that little man go
Your true stronger self
will surely grow
Please don’t call
resist to follow
his words of pain
are not yours to swallow
In the sheets of rain
a dying flame
As he walks slowly away
forget his name
The night is wet and cold
I can feel you shake
Going through pain
is not a mistake
Suffering’s not forever
a new flame will ignite
Like the Phoenix
you will take flight
For you are unforgettable
never truly alone
Reach across the distance
by screen prayer or by phone
A response to Casarah Nance’s poem “Find Me Forgotten”
