Undying Persistence

Triggered by unrequited love, rejection's rage is the norm. And any chance of happiness is lost in the wake of fate's storm. Truth devastates frustrated hearts, left in this vulnerable state. Yet, with but a flip of a coin, Lady Luck might alter your fate. Because you’re like an open book, your feelings cannot be concealed. And exposed, fantasy dreams die as your worst nightmares get revealed. Secretly, your heart feels empty, like it's been hollowed out inside. And hidden tears swell up and spill, no matter how many you've cried. Desire and suppression have you sliding down a slippery slope. Yet, with undying persistence, you desperately cling to hope. Well expressed. Can relate. So true about "Yet with but one flip of a coin Lady Luck may alter your fate." Well done, Emile.

Hello Emile!! This one's an extraordinary write. I just happened to have written a poem posted on PS last year entitled: "Unrequited Love." You might find it of interest too relevant to your current write here. Your title here is most appropriate for your theme. And the picture is worth a thousand words. Outstanding Work!! A "7" + FAV!! Best Always, Gary (P.S. Since reading your work here, I might undertake a sequel to my original poem on "Unrequited Love.")
